Response to question #2
I think Holden doesn't like school because of the way he has been treated. Also because he doesn't take time to do his classwork and homework and school is just not for him. He is failing because he is not taking school seriously and doesn't care about school. I think he is just lazy. Holden is not dumb, he could be passing all his classes if he was doing what he is suppose to do. I think for him school is a waste of time and not important.

How do you think people have treated Holden so that he doesn't like school? Do you think that they were mean to him, or is it just Holden's own prerogative in deciding that he will not like the people around him? Does it stem from the actions of the people around him, or from Holden himself?
